Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3 2012 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou, one of the contestants at the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). He has a younger sister, Athena, who is also drummer. Lee was only two years old when his father moved his family to the United States. Lee received his first drum sticks at age four and his first big drum kit as a teenager. In order to pursue a career as an artist and performer, he quit high school and joined the L.A. nightclub band Suite 19. In his teen years, he listened to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Cheap Trick, Kiss, AC/DC and Sweet. John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge were his main drumming influence.
